PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Classic Quilting, Made for Longer Little Bodies

Give your long-bodied companion a cozy layer for chilly walks. The NEKOAN Classic Quilted Dachshund Winter Coat combines timeless quilted styling with an elongated cut designed around the Dachshund’s distinctive proportions.

A water-repellent nylon outer helps shed light splashes, while the padded construction adds warmth for fall and winter outings. A ribbed collar adds soft coverage around the neck, and the sleeveless design leaves the front legs free to move.

Hook-and-loop closures at the neck and chest open the coat for easy dressing and let you adjust the fit within the garment’s size range. An elasticated chest section provides a little give, while rear leg straps help keep the longer back panel in place.

A collar leash opening lets you reach the attachment point beneath the coat. A small back pocket provides space for a few spare waste bags, adding a practical touch to everyday walks.

Designed primarily for Miniature and Standard Dachshunds and Dachshund mixes. Other dogs with similar long-bodied proportions may also find a suitable fit, depending on their measurements. Compare your dog’s neck, chest and back length with the size chart before choosing a size, and check that the coat allows comfortable movement.

Construction: Quilted and padded, with a soft lining.

Care

Hand washing is recommended. Gently wash in water below 86°F (30°C) with a mild detergent. Machine washing is not recommended to help preserve the water-repellent finish and the shape of the padding.

Rinse thoroughly and gently press out excess water without wringing. Reshape and lay flat to dry in a shaded, well-ventilated area. Avoid direct sunlight and high-heat drying.

FAQ

Is this coat designed specifically for Dachshunds?
Yes. The elongated body is designed around Dachshund proportions. It may suit Miniature and Standard Dachshunds and Dachshund mixes, depending on their measurements.

Can other breeds wear it?
Dogs with similar long-bodied proportions may also find a suitable fit. Check the neck, chest and back-length measurements carefully rather than choosing by breed alone. A short-legged dog does not automatically need the same fit as a Dachshund.

How does the coat fasten?
Hook-and-loop closures at the neck and chest open for dressing and allow adjustment within the selected size. An elasticated chest section adds a little give.

Does it include a built-in harness or leash ring?
The coat has a collar leash opening, rather than a built-in harness or metal leash ring. Use the opening to connect your leash to a suitable collar worn beneath the coat.

Is it waterproof?
The nylon outer is water-repellent and helps shed light splashes. It is not intended to provide full waterproof protection in heavy or prolonged rain.

What helps keep the coat in place?
The neck and chest closures, elasticated chest section and rear leg straps help stabilize the coat. Check that the straps sit comfortably and allow your dog to move naturally.

What is the pocket for?
The small back pocket can hold a few spare waste bags for everyday walks.

How do I choose the right size?
Measure the neck, the widest part of the chest just behind the front legs, and the back from the base of the neck to the base of the tail. Compare all three with the size chart. Choose a size that accommodates the chest and neck while providing suitable back coverage. The closures offer adjustment, but cannot compensate for an incorrect garment length.

Can I machine wash it?
Hand washing is recommended; machine washing is not recommended. Use water below 86°F (30°C) with a mild detergent. Gently press out excess water, reshape and lay flat to dry in the shade. Avoid wringing and high-heat drying.
